SOCIAL HOUR + TOUR: DANIELS AND ZERMACK
ALL ARE INVITED!
Please accept our invitation to join your AIA members, Emerging Professionals, Associate Members, and architecture students at Daniels and Zermack in Ann Arbor for an office tour and social hour.
INTRODUCTION:
Daniels and Zermack is the oldest Architectural Firm in Ann Arbor with a continuous 65 year history. Beginning with Daniels and Zermack’s first branch bank in 1950, and throughout the completion of more than a thousand succeeding projects, the firm founded by E.H. Daniels and Fred E. Zrmack (Fred added an “e” in the firm name to make it easier to pronounce) has provided innovative, thoughtful design for a range of commercial projects including offices, retail, industrial, financial services, libraries, hospice and medical services, and religious structures. The work of the firm has included the full gamut ranging from modest interior renewal and remodeling projects to the design of new multi-story corporate headquarters buildings exceeding 185,000 square feet and more than $35 million in construction cost.
Over the past 65 years the firm has primarily focused on the design of financial institutions. Most of the firm’s work has been in Michigan and surrounding states, but the firm has designed projects farther afield when called upon. The Firm is currently led by principals, Greg McKenzie, AIA, Seth Penchansky, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Dan Whisler, AIA, LEED AP BD+C.
Over the last decade the firm has added an expertise in sustainability with the LEED Gold certification of the MSU Federal Credit Union Headquarters, in 2007. With the recent merging of Penchansky Whisler Architects, Daniels and Zermack added an expertise in Library Design. Seth Penchansky managed the LEED silver certification of the Harper Woods Public Library, Michigan’s first LEED certified public library in 2004, and most recently the LEED Silver Ferndale Public Library, that received an AIA Huron Valley design award and an Honorable Mention from CAM Magazine for the 2010 Green Project of the Year.
