A Chapter of the American Institute of Architects
AIA Huron Valley is honored to provide the opportunity for Jennifer Darby to present her dissertation research on the interactions between architects and clients during the initial design process. Darby studied three large Michigan-based architectural firms over a nine month period involving many hours of qualitative research, observations, and interviews.
The importance of the first stage of the design process and the prominence of the architect/client relationship within this stage is critical. How is organizational culture manifested and what cultural factors affect firms through the client engagement process? Is the process primarily motivated by money? Is it motivated by positive connections? Come hear about Darby's research!
