AIA Huron Valley is pleased to announce a tour on Tuesday July 23rd of the recent updates to the Football Training Facilities at the University of Michigan!
Marty Lewis of JS Vig will lead a tour of a rare-behind-the-scenes look at the recent updates to the Towsley Family Museum in Schembechler Hall and the adaptive re-use of the Oosterbaan building for football training, including the sprinkler retrofit, new roof with skylights, and challenge of adding a hydrotherapy area within an existing building.
When: Tuesday July 23rd, 4:30 PM-5:30 PM with a tour of parts of Schembechler Hall and Oosterbaan
Where: Schembechler Hall, 1200 South State Street, Ann Arbor, 48109. Meet in the lobby of the Schembechler Hall Towsley Family Museum, behind the statue of Bo. We will have a brief tour of the museum, then the Recovery Pool, Weight Room, Sports Medicine, and Hydrotherapy.
Parking: There is some 2 hour metered parking in the SC 20 lot along 3rd baseline, south of the track. There is also metered parking on State or else parking in the neighborhood to the east. See attached map - red cloud is metered parking, blue dot is Schembechler Hall. Note: Many streets downtown are under construction and parking is limited.
Continuing Education: This tour will be accredited for 1 LU/HSW continuing education credit.
Cost: FREE for AIAHV Members, Associate Members and Students, $35 for Non-Members
