Ann Arbor and cities across the world have declared climate emergencies and are setting aggressive carbon neutrality goals to become more sustainable. Buildings account for nearly 40% of the annual global CO2 emissions due to their dependency on using fossil-fuel burning equipment. Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems can help achieve carbon neutrality via electrification and reduce the large reliance of fossil fuels in the building sector.
In the past VRF has had a reputation of performing poorly in cold climates, however that is no longer the case. Today’s VRF systems are an effective heating and cooling solution for a multitude of applications, including cold climates. We will inform you of how VRF can effectively meet your building needs, while also achieving your decarbonization and electrification goals.
The presentations will be followed by focused conversations about strategies and policies needed to meet the goal of carbon neutrality. This program is offered in collaboration with the City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor 2030 District. Input from this event will contribute to the City of Ann Arbor’s Plan to reach Carbon Neutrality to be announced on the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day next year.
